Overview

In this activity, students explore the role of needs and wants in the economy. They begin by identifying examples of needs and wants and then learn that entrepreneurs come up with business ideas to meet a need or a want. They work in groups to list personal needs and wants. In teams, they select 1 of the needs or wants they identified and brainstorm an idea for a good or service to meet it. Together, they create a pitch to “sell” their idea. To complete the activity, they pitch their business ideas to the group.
