In this activity, students explore the issues caused by security breaches and online identity theft. In particular, they focus on how e-commerce and other online activities, including the use of social media, expose one’s personal information. Students identify major data security breaches of the past 20 years and then analyze data breaches from a variety of companies. Finally, they use what they have learned to recommend cybersecurity tips for consumers.
