Overview
During the 1960s and 1970s, television personality Monty Hall hosted a game show called Let’s Make a Deal. In every episode, Monty invited contestants to play various games of chance, often involving the trading of a guaranteed prize for a chance at a more valuable prize. One of the games involved some surprising probability, and it is now known to mathematicians as the Monty Hall Problem. In this activity, students will explore the Monty Hall Problem and discover the experimental probability of its different outcomes.
