Students create animal figures by using clay and their hands. Also, students learn about the symbolic meanings that animals bring to all cultures, especially the Mayans.

Students explore coils, coils are the first technique to learn in clay class. The coil technique can be used to make coil pots and also as a way to form larger structures later on. Below are basic instructions for a coil snake, which is the method for creating coils for any project.
