Students sit in a circle on the floor and use their hands on the floor in front of them to tap out rhythms. Students start with slow two-beat rhythms, then add a finger snap, percussion from found objects like pencils, rulers, books, or brooms. Then they will add vocal percussive sounds and additional beats. In small groups, students will use found objects to create percussive performances.
