What is a country, a state, a continent, and a planet? Which is bigger and which is smaller? These questions often stump or puzzle elementary school children, who may have difficulty conceptualizing the hierarchy of land units in the world. This activity provides children with a conceptual framework for units of Earth’s land. Each child will create an Earth book with page entries sized according to the hierarchy of land units. Children will also be exposed to examples of each unit of land.
