In this activity, students read and interpret a poem. They record their thoughts and ideas about the poem and then share ideas for writing a poem of their own during a “Give one, Get one” group activity. Students will discover that poetry can take on many forms and present a variety of subjects, all depending on the mindset, imagination, and writing skills of the author.
