In this activity, students write a story as a group. First, they use one of three starter paragraphs to begin the story independently. Then, the story is passed from one student to another to build on what was already written. Finally, students reconvene as a group to read and discuss the stories.

In this activity, students predict the plot of a story based only on the first page. The activity encourages students to be active readers and expand the body of fiction in their personal libraries.
