Mizzen is an
English Setter, born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 28, 2002.
She
has show dog parents, and (we confirm) that she was the pick of the litter.
She was one of seven puppies, probably the one seen on the far right of these first photos. She had an exciting first few months, bouncing around the
Palisades Kennel; she
ate
a bee the week before we picked her up, so in her photos that week she was
dosed on Benedryl. Since then she has continued to explore the world
with her mouth, which is not recommended, considering all of the bad things
out there.
Her mother is "Eve" (Palisades to Oz and Back) and her father is Bally
(Premier Trabeiz Go Ballistic). Both are well known and successful
champion show dogs. Little Mizzen has big paws to fill.
Her AVID tag # is 058 060 354.
All of the airlines
are now refusing to fly pets, so we flew up to Louisville (direct flight),
rented a car, drove to Cincinnati, then drove back to Louisville to spend
our first night with Sherry's father. Little Mizzen was attracted to
Sherry immediately when we arrived, and the bonding was immediate.
She
traveled as a veteran on the way back to Florida, sleeping for hours at a time between puppy rest
stops, and she had no accidents. She is now at home in St. Petersburg,
Florida getting used to the heat, lizards, pelicans, and seagulls.
