“Our Right to Assemble” Posters
Overview
In this activity, students explore what the freedom of assembly means in the United States. Then, students split into teams to read excerpts from articles about the First Amendment and prepare posters entitled “Our Right to Assemble”, illustrating examples of protected assembly. Finally, they discuss and clarify what peaceably assemble means and what responsibilities people have when exercising their rights.
